SENA TECHNOLOGIES
HELMET DEMO BOOTH

Capable of extreme sound to test noise-canceling
without bothering a whole tradeshow.

Sena Technologies was only a few months out from the International motorcycle show in Orlando, and this was going to be a special one. They were scheduled to reveal their all-new “Momentum Series” helmet (pictured) at this show. Sena had just gotten approval from the Department of Transportation to sell this all-new helmet in the US and were chomping-at-the-bit to show it off.

What was unique about the momentum series is it boasted the ability to cancel virtually all road, and wind noise typically experienced by motorcyclists. Then utilizing its advance BlueTooth and peer-to-peer intercom integrations, the Momentum series was sure to delight. There was only one issue… how to put this technology to the test and demonstrate its advanced features without disturbing the rest of the tradeshow? Not only that, it had to be portable, and coordinate with the rest of an existing tradeshow exhibit. To answer this question, I designed a “phone booth” made out of polycarbonate and high-density foam inside of an aluminum skeleton. Also, it featured a fully wired sound system, and TV to demonstrate a typical motorcycle ride.

Once inside, exhibit attendees could try on the helmet, turn on its noise-canceling features, and crank up the demonstration sound with minimal decibel leakage. This would allow Sena to adequately demonstrate their product without compromising the experience of the rest of their exhibit and the show.
